Discover The Healing Power Of Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice that involves the insertion of very thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate healing & restore balance. It’s effectiveness and mechanisms of action are still subjects of ongoing research and debate. However, acupuncture has been reported to provide relief and support for various conditions.
It is important to note that acupuncture should NOT be considered a stand alone treatment for serious medical conditions and it is recommended to consult with a qualified medical professional for a comprehensive diagnosis & treatment plan.
Please note that individual responses to acupuncture may vary and available evidence supporting the effectiveness is mixed.
Some individuals experience significant pain relief and improved well being, while others may not respond as strongly.

About

With over 25 years of experience working for the NHS, I decided I needed a new challenge. Having had acupuncture myself my practitioner suggested I should look into becoming an acupuncturist. So I did just that, I researched all the training that was available and decided to sign up for the course at Healing & Acupuncture College in Bath & here I am with ‘Aspire Acupuncture’

You should avoid strenuous exercise, caffeine, junk food, cold temperatures & where possible stressful situations.
One of the biggest fears that people have before their first acupuncture is will it hurt. However, the insertion of acupuncture needles is relatively painless and many people don’t even feel the needle at all.
The needle produces a sensation of pressure or ache. However, this is not unpleasant.
The intense heat from a sauna or bath is considered an extra stimulation that may undo the energy reset. However hot shows are OK after acupuncture.
You should avoid anything strenuous for 24hrs
The risks of acupuncture are low if you have a competent certified acupuncture practitioner using sterile needles. Common side affects include soreness and minor bleeding or bruising where the needles are inserted. Single use, disposable needles are a common standard practice so any infection risk is minimal.
The result is different for each person and the number of sessions and time required to see results can differ. Usually, one can notice the effects of acupuncture in around 3-4 days, some may feel an immediate improvement.
Acupuncture uses very thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow within the body, Dry Needling uses thicker needles that target trigger points within muscles to relieve tension and decrease pain.

Wanted to share my really positive experience with the lovely Dawn (who many of you may know from the Tuesday 7:30pm class). Highly recommend considering going to see Dawn if you have a niggle/pain/problem area within your body. I had acupuncture and it was such a lovely, informative and relaxing appointment. Save this post and drop Dawn a message, I was amazed at the variety of areas that could be treated (not just muscle tightness/injury). Already looking forward to my next appointment.

I've seen Dawn twice in the last few weeks and after the treatment on Friday, I was able to spin pain free for the first time in about 5-6 months! I would 100% recommend Dawn to anyone.
