One of the biggest fears that people have before their first acupuncture is will it hurt. However, the insertion of acupuncture needles is relatively painless and many people don’t even feel the needle at all.

The needle produces a sensation of pressure or ache. However, this is not unpleasant.

The intense heat from a sauna or bath is considered an extra stimulation that may undo the energy reset. However hot shows are OK after acupuncture.

You should avoid anything strenuous for 24hrs

The risks of acupuncture are low if you have a competent certified acupuncture practitioner using sterile needles. Common side affects include soreness and minor bleeding or bruising where the needles are inserted. Single use, disposable needles are a common standard practice so any infection risk is minimal.

The result is different for each person and the number of sessions and time required to see results can differ. Usually, one can notice the effects of acupuncture in around 3-4 days, some may feel an immediate improvement.

Acupuncture uses very thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow within the body,  Dry Needling uses thicker needles that target trigger points within muscles to relieve tension and decrease pain.
